BIOGRAPHY

Becky and her husband, R. D. Taylor, retired to Charleston, SC in 2012.  Prior to that, they lived in Indiana and Pentwater, MI.

Originally Becky took oil classes, but became enamored with all mediums which she still enjoys. Watercolors, however, continue to be her passion.

Becky chooses to paint subjects that soothe and renew her spirit as well as her viewers.  She hopes the viewers can symbolically walk into her paintings, find a restful and beautiful place to find their centers, to be at one with themselves and to be joyful they are alive.

She paints mostly representational art and responds to the moment with pure joy.  She views her work as a fulfillment of her life's purpose rather than a profession.  Flowers, gardens, seascapes and landscapes are some of her favorite subjects. She also enjoys abstracts.

Her professional memberships include:  Cardinal Fellow/Signature Member/WSI, Indiana Artists Club signature member and past board member, Hoosier Salon-awards winner, MWS and WSI, past President and Treasurer of WSI and is an exhibiting Signature member of the Charleston Artist's Guild.  She also is a member of the Mount Pleasant Artist Guild, South Carolina Watercolor Society and Southern Watercolor Society.  She just finished her second year as president of the Mt. Pleasant Artist Guild.  Since coming to Charleston, SC, she has won several awards from the Mt. Pleasant Artist Guild and most recently at the South Carolina Watercolor Society Exhibit.

Becky teaches private and group lessons and holds local workshops. She also has given several demos and talks to other guilds in SC.  Becky has also judged several exhibits in the area.  She has been Artist in Residence at several schools in Indiana and Michigan.

Becky's Fine Art is represented in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and foreign countries.
